Workshop: Chalk Pastels of Autumn Produce

Tickets are £55 each, £50 for Friends of the Palace.

Timings:

• 10.30am - 3.30pm (1 hour lunch break 12.30pm - 1.30pm) 

Join us for a creative session focused on seasonal chalk pastel drawings featuring autumnal produce. This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the use of chalk pastels, guiding you through the process of developing tone, depth, and detail in your artwork. Participants will learn essential techniques tailored for beginners, making it a perfect opportunity to explore your artistic side. All materials will be provided. Come and enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn while enhancing your artistic skills.

Lunch is not included, participants are welcome to bring their own packed lunch or purchase lunch from The Bishop’s Table on site.

Gardening at the Palace in an Environmentally Conscious Way - A talk and walk with Head Gardener James Cross 

Tuesday Oct 14th -2pm - 3.30pm   - Limited spaces available

Join James for a talk and walk, he'll tell you about the gardening techniques being used at the Bishop's Palace. Learn about what the team is doing to work in a more sustainable way and how they are having to adapt to our ever-changing climate.

Artisan Christmas Market

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November    10am-4pm

Join us at the Palace for our annual Artisan Market Weekend! You'll find a huge range of beautiful gifts and presents for yourself or your loved ones from over 70 stalls. Your ticket also include entrance to the gardens. 

They'll be music in the chapel on both days provided by local choirs or instrumental groups. 

Please note that the Annual Ticket (green or white pass) and Historic House cards are not valid for this event.  You will need to purchase a ticket online or on the day to enter the palace and gardens. Friends of the Palace are free..  This is a fundraising event for the Palace Trust. 

Celine by Candleight - Tribute Concert in the Bishops's Chapel + sneak preview of the Illuminated Gardens

Friday 28th November  6pm-9pm (Performance at 7.00pm)

Tickets - £25 

We start our Christmas season with an intimate concert in the beautiful candlelit Bishop's Chapel - join us as vocalist Angie Lang lends her incredible voice to the hits of Celine Dion, the Queen of Power Ballads. 

Gates open at 6pm and you'll have 45 minutes to see the Illuminated Gardens as we prepare them for opening to the public on the 29th, then head in to the chapel for show.  Capacity is limited to just 70 so book early to avoid disappointment. 

Please note seating will be either in the chapel pews or on chairs in the centre aisle - seating is not allocated. This event is not suitable for young children. 

Come and meet Father Christmas in the beautiful surroundings of the Bishop's Palace this December.

Tickets are £14 per child (including entrance to Gardens and Palace) and must be accompanied by a paying Adult.

Explore the beautifully decorated rooms of the palace, do some colouring while you wait then spend time with Father Christmas in his grotto. Each child will receive a gift during their visit.

How to book:

• Each timed slot has a capacity of two children. If there are more than 2 children in your family please book the next slot after and we will ensure you all go in together for your visit with Father Christmas.
• Please ensure fill out your child's name correctly where it asks. 
• Please book the right age category for your child so we can ensure they receive an appropriate gift.
• Please read your confirmation email for details of where to go on the day of your booking. 

Sparkle - Illuminated Gardens at the Palace

Explore the beautiful gardens of the Bishop's Palace as you see them in a whole new light! Each year our illuminated gardens delight the many visitors who walk the lit pathways and gaze at the stunning displays which fill the inner gardens.  You also get to explore the marvellously decorated Palace rooms, with gorgeous floral displays by our gardens team. 

Select a day and time slot to arrive - take note of restrictions or extra entertainment on some days. 

You can enter the gardens from the beginning of the start time you have booked and can stay in until close. Last entry is 7.30pm and the site will close at 8pm.

Sparkle will go ahead in all weathers unless it is deemed unsafe for the site to be open - customer will be contacted to select another date or given a refund if Palace Enterprises Ltd has to cancel an event.
